RESEARCH and COMMUNITY EXTENSION

The RPDCEO envisions itself as a center for outstanding research and developmental community services. It is a committed partner of the WCC Educational System in developing social responsibility, competencies and research skills among students, staff and faculty.

RPDCEO performs two important functions.

As a research, planning and development unit, it serves the WCC community in conducting various research projects. It leads in undertaking institutional researches as well as in assisting the different colleges and departments in editing and publishing materials for their respective journals.

As an extension unit, the RPDCEO designs, implements and evaluates outreach programs of the system, colleges and departments. It is responsible in ensuring that the value and quality of instruction in the classroom translates well in various community and social settings.

RPDCEO coordinates with the different colleges and departments and conducts seminars to stimulate interest in research. It synergizes research activities of the three WCC campuses and prepares reports on various studies that would aid the school administrators in the improvement of the academic community on areas such as instruction, teaching performance, faculty and students' development.

Currently, the RPDCEO is editing materials for the first World Citizens Journal - the system publication which will soon be out and distributed in the three campuses.

PURPOSE AND STRUCTURE

The RPDCEO functions as a clearinghouse for all individual, group and departmental/college researches. It ensures that all research projects adhere to the ethical principles and standards of research:

The RPDCEO Director is responsible for the coordination of the college research program, community programs and research agenda. The director plans and conducts the internal and external research projects. The coordinator also supervises the training of faculty and staff on research work and is responsible for the publication of the WCC Faculty Research Journal.
